It uses IOTA’s infrastructure for hosting data stored on the Oyster platform. A data file is broken into chunks, and each of these chunks is encrypted. These encrypted chunks exist as transactions on the IOTA Tangle and are retained on the Tangle.
Oyster's alternative ad revenue platform will use this decentralized data storage network to incentivize users to contribute their devices' computing resources.
