The ability to influence transaction verification is distributed over the network creating a web of trust. To eliminate mining completely each node on the network connects to a list of nodes that it sees as trustworthy.

Komodo is a blockchain building platform that is focused on developing anonymity and security focused solutions. Komodo's platform, which was originally a fork of ZCash, is powered by the KMD token, and enables users to send anonymous transactions. Komodo has a delayed Proof of Work consensus algorithm.
Komodo also operates Chainmakers and Chainzilla; which assist clients in creating their own blockchains, decentralized applications, and initial coin offerings. Komodo also provides services related to wallet integrations and blockchain security.
Komodo held the first ever decentralized ICO and pioneered the concept of a dICO. Their goal is to allow users to more easily build blockchain solutions and decentralized exchanges. BitNew Chain is building a development platform for commercial DApps. BitNew Chain aims to make it easier to develop large scale DApps that can be used with hardware. It will be based on a two-tier decentralized blockchain network with standard physical masternodes, resource segregation, a decentralized computing subsystem（BTN-DC）, and decentralized storage subsystem（BTN-FS). Consensus will be achieved through a hybrid mining process that will combine Proof-of-Stake (PoS) with Proof of Masternode. The network is powered by the BTN coin.
