QuarkChain uses a hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism that is ASIC-resistant. Transactions are first confirmed on one blockchain layer, and then on the second. The network will be powered by the QKC coin.

Swarm is also developing the SRC-20 protocol, which will define a common set of rules that a security token must follow, and will give users the ability to create DApps that follow these accepted properties.
