What problem does this service solve?

QuarkChain hopes to create a more scalable blockchain platform that will have faster transaction times.IPFS is a decentralized alternative to HTTP that can be used to make recording blockchain transactions more efficient.ProximaX aims to create a high performance blockchain platform for developers to create DApss with decentralized storage, messaging, streaming, and content delivery services.

Company Description

QuarkChain is building a blockchain with a focus on speed and scalability. They hope to significantly improve transaction times and reduce fees with an architecture that will rely on a two-layered blockchain and elastic sharding. QuarkChain uses a hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism that is ASIC-resistant. Transactions are first confirmed on one blockchain layer, and then on the second. The network will be powered by the QKC coin.

The Interplanetary File System (IPFS) is a decentralized network protocol for sharing hypermedia in a distributed file system. IPFS can be used to link blockchain transactions This effectively timestamps and secures the content, without having to put the data on the chain itself. Filecoin, an IPFS-based decentralized storage cloud, is closely related with the IPFS protocol, and provides the incentive system.

ProximaX is developing a NEM-based platform with several on-chain and off-chain protocols. At its core, ProximaX is based on the NEM blockchain, and is designed to be an all-in-one platform for developing DApps. The platform has several parallel layers that are intended to provide decentralized storage, messaging, streaming, and content delivery services. The network is powered by the NEM-based XPX token. ProximaX intends on using a hybrid consensus mechanism for validating value transfers on these layers. Consensus will be driven with a combination of Proof-of-Importance (PoI), Proof-of-Storage (PoSt), and Proof-of-Bandwidth (PoB).
