Hedera uses its own consensus protocol that assigns every transaction a consensus time that is calculated as the median of the times at which each node in the network first received it. The network is powered by the HBAR coin.

Alqo is developing an ecosystem of decentralized products and services that will be powered by the Alqo coin (XLQ). Their blockchain-based ecosystem enables instant and anonymous transactions. Lisk uses sidechain development kits, that are written in Javascript, to enable users to create their own blockchain applications according to their needs. Each decentralized App runs on its own sidechain that can be customized, and is connected to the Lisk blockchain, which has a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (dPoS) consensus mechanism. The Lisk network is powered by the LSK coin.
