Blockstack is developing a decentralized computing platform that enables users to better control their data and identity. Blockstack's open-source software is designed to be a decentralized computing network for DApps. Applications built on Blockstack allow users to maintain direct ownership of their internet assets and ensure privacy for users. Blockstack Apps use private data lockers and blockchain-based security mechanisms to protect personal user data. The network uses an innovative consensus mechanism called Proof of Transfer, that rewards participants in a non-native currency for helping to secure the network.
