NEM allows users to customize its’ blockchain. It has a “Smart Asset System”, that developers can adjust as if it were a custom blockchain specifically built for their application and assets. NEM has a Proof of Importance (PoI) consensus algorithm, that uses a technique similar to Google’s PageRank.
