Tencent hopes to utilize its enormous market share in the Chinese internet market to become a player in this quickly growing field. The company is competing against Alibaba and Baidu in a large number of industries, and blockchain will be another sector for them to engage in. The company released a whitepaper, in 2017, that outlined their plans but they have yet to bring on a significant amount of clients.
